After witnessing 4 successful forums in the Middle East, the
Regional Internet Registry for Europe (RIPE Rcc), is organizing its 5th
Middle East Network Operators Group meeting (MENOG 5) for the first
time in Lebanon. MENOG 5 meeting follows the success of MENOG 4
which attracted 90 governments and business participants from 17
different countries.
Hosted by IDM and Ogero, MENOG 5 will gather business, network
operators and technology communities from different countries to
discuss during the 5 days-meetings most critical internet issues
affecting the Middle East region and to share expertise, knowledge
and identify opportunities for regional cooperation.
MENOG 5 forum offers the opportunity for organizations and
individuals from across the region to discuss and debate topics such
as critical internet resource including Networking and the
Deployment of IPV6, Internet Security and Internet Exchange. IPV6 is
a new system of IP addresses crucial to the continual development of
the internet and worth noting that it will be raised for the first
time during MENOG 5.
The meeting’s agenda includes presentations and tutorials and also
workshops on IPV6 and ISP security which will be presented by
international experts. All meetings are free of charge and open to
all experts and engineers in the internet and networking field
except for the workshop sessions where nominal registration fee
applies.
This conference will take place at the Mövenpick Hotel in Beirut,
between the 25th and the 29th of October 2009.
